Open Studios Jan van Eyck

The participating artists, designers, architects, curators and writers are displaying their artistic research and collaborative projects resulting from their residency at the Van Eyck during two Open Studios days on 9 and 10 March 2018. The central Open Studios exhibition is curated by participants Bernke Klein Zandvoort and Rodrigo Red Sandoval. All the studios, exhibition spaces, Labs, gardens and other locations in and beyond the academy building will be open to the public.

Joshua Redman - World Top Concert

Joshua Redman launched his career with a band of virtually unknown artists: Brad Mehldau, Christian McBride and Brian Blade. All three have gone on to become legends in the jazz world. After years of working with the likes of The Bad Plus, The Roots and the Rolling Stones, Redman is turning his attention back to promising up-and-comers. Experience one of the greatest jazz musicians alive playing alongside the future of European jazz.

El Cine en Español

From March 10 to 14, El Cine en Español gives you the opportunity to discover and engage with a carefully honed selection of cinema from Spain and Spanish America, with the emphasis on the latter. The films Incerta Glòria, El Laberinto Del Fauno (Pan’s Labyrinth), Tempestad and También La Lluvia will be shown with English subtitles

Extra special: On Saturday Incerta Glòria’s production manager, Aleix Castellón, will introduce the film. On Sunday, Professor Wiel Pansters (UU) will introduce the screening of Tempestad. Both introductions will be in English.
